Benjamin and I absolutely love our neighborhood. We are so over renting, duplex/apartment living, et cetera but we love living in Midtown! We've lived in Midtown for almost a year and a half now. We love being so close to everything. Although we've been working far too much lately, we love being able to walk down to the Reno Public House and have a brew with some friends. Or walk down to the Hub for some amazing coffee and a delicious chai. Or like on New Year's, when we walked to downtown just a few blocks away to meet friends for a late dinner and New Year's fun.
I just love Midtown. Our neighborhood is quiet and quaint yet so close to everything bustling and loud. All of this culminated today as I took Jack for a walk. We had a storm brewing over the mountains all day. It was overcast and the air was moist. I felt refreshed, inspired, and so grateful for our home (The loud, tiny, and over-priced apartment that it is). Our dream is to some day own a home in this area. A home we'll have for years to come - like Benjamin's grandparents who have lived in the same home for about 50 years now or my uncle and aunt who have been in their home almost the same amount of time.
No matter which way we are led, right now I am thankful for our home, for our Dachshund, our family, friends, happy hour at Silver Peak, our family at Vineyard, and this sweet neighborhood we've been called into. Oh, Midtown, I'm so thankful to call you my home.
Yay, love dachshunds!! So cute :)
