Oh, Christmas Time

Sunday, December 11

I was feeling so busy and stressed out with work and school, I honestly didn't think we would get to decorate until Christmas Eve. Decorating for Christmas is one of my favorite childhood memories. My family has generally used fake trees while my husband, Benjamin has always had real trees. We were planning on getting a real tree but it finally just came down to what's easier: getting the Christmas tree box from the basement or going out to find a tree and somehow getting it onto our Chevy Aveo and getting it set up in the house. I'm sure you can tell by the even layers of branches, we went to the basement.
For our first Christmas, it is actually quite a legitimate tree! We're very excited about it. We traveled over to Target and picked up this cute Christmas ornament and owl! We'll be writing about our year together on the back of the ornament. As for the owl, I have no idea what to do with him. He was too adorable to pass up. He may just flutter around the house all year long.
One night last week, I came home from work to Christmas lights on the outside of our house! We're still the only ones on our street with Christmas lights. So if you drive by blinding lights in the darkness, stop by and say hello! :)
